    THE RULES, Rev 20090110

Post by the13thboy on Sat Jan 10, 2009 2:10 pm

So here are the rules, revision 20090110.
    3 infractions = Ban
    0 reputation = Ban
3 bans from same IP = IP ban
    Here are the DON'Ts.
    Don't...

    1. Swear. There's a censoring system in place, but it's not perfect. If you swear, it'll get censored, I guarantee it.
    2. Post your story in your post. Put it in an attachment or link it to a URL instead.
    3. Make any discriminatory comments. That includes, but is not limited to the following: race, sex, sexual orientation (this one's important), age, intelligence/IQ rating, nationality, nation of origin, income, etc.
    4. Flame anyone. Only exception to this rule is in Spam Land, but don't abuse it. You can still get reputations/infractions for it.
    5. Post any inappropriate topics. (pornography, inappropriate jokes, inappropriate links, etc.) It'll get viewed by someone, and it'll get reported.
    6. Spam. There is a reputation meter on ink.arnation, and if you reach 0... you get hit by teh giant administrators' ban hamma. I do watch that number very carefully...
    7. Ask to be a moderator. That privilege is for people with sufficiently high reputation, and you'll need to prove yourself to be a productive and useful part of the community before I'll consider you.
    8. Ask to be the MoM. (Member of the Month) There's MoM points, given for particularly good posts, and you need to have the most at the end of the month before you'll get to be one.
    9. Ask for reputation. I won't give it, and I can track who gives it. (yes, little moderators, that means you...)
    10. Bring up politics in main forums. (unless it has something to do with your writing)
    11. Write a debate. They will get moved/deleted, and you may receive a reputation reduction for doing it.
    12. Make useless reports. They also count as a reputation reduction.
    13. Bother me. I'm busy doing schoolwork, as well as administrating the forum. If you have to bother someone, bother one of the other members.
    14. Promote anything prohibited by the ToS you agreed to when you registered. This includes plagiarism, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, etc.
    15. Double-post. You wouldn't believe how annoying it is. There is an edit function, so USE IT!

    Here's the consequence table:
    ActionInfraction?Reputation Reduction?Other Actions?
    ProfanityYes/No-1Infraction depends on severity
    In-line postingNoNoPost will be deleted/linkified

    Just don't do it...

    The DOs
    DO...

    1. Be courteous.
    2. Be considerate. We're all people, too. (unless you're a spambot. Shoo!)
    3. Make thoughtful posts. This may result in a MoM point and/or a reputation boost.
    4. Post in the most appropriate forum. It's a pain, moving topics around.
    5. Spam in Spam Land. It's there for a reason.
